Recipe for Valentines Day
For the perfect dessert, you can't go wrong with Chef Gino's Valentine's Day Beetroot and Dark Chocolate Fondant served with Low Fat Greek Yoghurt.
Ingredients
50g 85% dark chocolate in chunks
50g unsalted butter
50g dark brown sugar
2 eggs
1⁄4 tsp vanilla extract
30g cooked beetroot, peeled and grated
20g plain flour
Method
Pre heat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius
Using two small pudding cases, lightly grease and dust with flour. Set aside
In a bowl over hot water, melt the dark chocolate and butter until smooth
In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs and sugar until light and pale, adding in the vanilla essence
Add the chocolate and butter to the egg mixture and fully combine
Grate the beetroot into the chocolate mix and combine
Add the chocolate fondant mix into the prepared moulds and cook for 15-16 minutes
Once cooked, remove from the oven and let sit for 1 minute
Fold out onto a plate and Serve with the Greek yoghurt
15-16 minutes cooking at 200 degrees
